FRESNO – The SBCC women's basketball team was defeated by the tournament host Rams on the final day of the Fresno City Crossover 78-41.
The Vaqueros struggled with their turnovers, suffering a 32-17 disadvantage on that front while shooting just 24.7 percent from the field as a team. They were held to single digits in each of the first two quarters, heading into halftime trailing 40-16.
Forward Asia Kirven led the team with nine points, but the Vaqueros were held without a double-digit scorer for the first time this season. Isabella Jensen Williams and Katrina Regalado put up eight points each.
Guard Berlin Faiaipau chipped in off the bench with seven points, her second-highest total of the year.
