RIVERSIDE, CA – On the first day of the 8th Annual EOS Tournament hosted by Riverside City College, the SBCC women's basketball team fell for the first time this season 76-57.

The Tigers (3-0) got out to a fast start, taking a commanding 30-12 lead through one quarter. The Vaqueros (2-1) would outscore RCC the rest of the half, trailing 41-26 at the break, but weren't able to get the lead lower than 13 points the rest of the way.

Freshman Paityn Persson had her biggest game of the early season, leading the Vaqueros with 19 points on an efficient 8-of-16 (.500) from the field.

Guard Isabella Jensen Williams had her best all-around performance as well, putting up the fourth double-double of her SBCC career with 15 points, 11 rebounds, five assists three steals and a block.

SBCC matched Riverside from the line, hitting 15-of-27 (.556) compared to the Tigers' 15-for-25 (.600). The Vaqueros also held RCC to just 23.1 percent (3-13 3FG) from three-point range. However, the Vaqueros couldn't get their outside shot going either, finishing 2-of-18 (.111) from deep. They also had more turnovers (24-18) and allowed Riverside to shoot 50 percent from inside-the-arc.

The Vaqueros continue the tournament against Solano on Friday.
