SBCC Defeated by Victor Valley at Mt. San Jacinto Crossover

SAN JACINTO, CA – The SBCC women's basketball team had its two-game win streak snapped in its opener at the Mt. San Jacinto Crossover, falling to Victor Valley 78-49.

The Vaqueros (4-3) fell behind by 10 points midway through the first quarter and weren't able to recover. Sophomore Isabella Jensen Williams led the team in scoring for the second time this season, scoring 13 points and also pulling down a Vaquero-best eight rebounds.

Point guard Brianna Jacobs knocked down a three for SBCC's first field goal at the 3:54 mark of the first quarter, after the Vaqueros had fallen behind by double-digits. She finished with seven points.

Earning her first start of the season, sophomore forward Lia Rodriguez put up eight points and a team-high three steals while knocking down 2-of-5 three-pointers.

Santa Barbara put up a season-high 37 three-point attempts, making seven compared to Victor Valley hitting 3-of-8. The outside shooting of freshman guard Mia Andrews was a bright spot, as she hit 3-of-7 from deep for a season-best nine points.
