SANTA BARBARA, CA – Facing the WSC's top team on Wednesday, the SBCC women's basketball team was beaten for just the third time in conference play 61-38 on the road.

While the Vaqueros (12-10, 5-3) were able to find success holding the Raiders (19-5, 8-0) to just 25 percent from beyond-the-arc, they weren't able to keep pace with them offensively or in the turnover battle. Sophomore Isabella Jensen Williams led Santa Barbara with 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The Vaqueros took an early 11-10 lead with three-pointers from guards Leila Chisholm and Kiani Rojas capping an 8-2 run. It was all Moorpark from there though, as the Raiders kept the defensive pressure high and never allowed SBCC to be comfortable on offense.

Freshman center Paityn Persson had another big night in the block department, stuffing six shots. That was her most since posting one of the highest block totals in program history with nine at Allan Hancock on Jan. 21.

Rojas finished with seven points off the bench while Isabella Favazzo (2/3 3FG) added six in the starting lineup.

SBCC returns home this Saturday, Feb. 4 to face LA Pierce at 3:00 p.m.
