MONTEREY – SBCC women's basketball guard Isabella Jensen Williams' magical sophomore season reached new heights on Tuesday, as she notched her first career triple double with 26 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists while leading the Vaqueros to an 87-81 win at Monterey Peninsula.

Williams and the Vaqueros (14-10) got started with a huge 27-point first quarter. They later went into halftime with a slim 50-48 lead, but pushed it back into double-figures 68-58 heading into the fourth.

In an incredibly efficient team effort, SBCC set a new season-high shooting 49.3 percent from the field and tied a season-low with just 12 turnovers. Williams was 8-of-14 from the field and 9-for-12 on free throws.

No Vaquero shot better from the floor than freshman center Paityn Persson, who went for 13 points hitting 6-of-8 shots. Freshman guard Leila Chisholm continued to be sharp from the outside, putting in 11 points connecting on 3-of-4 three-pointers. Sophomore Lia Rodriguez also put in 11 points (5/9 FG) off the bench and freshman Kiani Rojas led the non-starters with 14.

The season-best shooting effort was huge for the Vaqueros, as Monterey Pensinula shot 50 percent from range and were 24-of-30 at the line. However, SBCC's defense stepped up big time to force 24 turnovers – twice as many as the Vaqs.
