MOORPARK, Calif. – On a blustery day at Simi Hills GC in which the wind reached upwards of 45 mph gusts, the SBCC Women's Golf Team stayed grounded and finished with two top-10 scores for the 4th time this season.

Despite playing into the wind on many holes, both Ginger Libby and Carlee Steven were able to string together enough pars to shoot 92 and 84, respectively.

"I felt that both Ginger and Carlee showed great perseverance literally pushing through the wind," Head Coach Devin Engebretsen said. "Putting in the wind is very difficult, and often underrated, but both ladies only had a couple of 3-putts, and generally kept their wits about them. Playing in these conditions is not the easiest thing to do."

SBCC has one more WSC match at El Cariso GC (hosted by College of the Canyons) before three straight postseason tournaments take hold: the WSC Championship (Oct. 25 @ Santa Barbara Golf Club), the Southern California Regionals (Nov. 8-9 @ Bakersfield Country Club), and The CCCAA State Finals at Cypress Ridge.
