LOS ANGELES, Calif. – It took nearly 88 minutes before a goal was scored on Friday night at LA Pierce, but it was the SBCC women's soccer team that fell on the wrong side of a 1-0 scoreline.

The Vaqueros continued their pattern of alternating wins and losses in 2021, now moving to a 5-5 overall mark and 1-2 in conference play. The Bulls meanwhile improved to 6-2-3 overall, 2-1-1 in conference.

Santa Barbara put more shots on target than the Bulls for the day, taking a 4-3 advantage in that department. However, LA Pierce's Kiara Washington scored off an assist by Alexandra Meza in the 88th minute to put the home side on top.

SBCC's Analea Pule finished with two saves. Midfielder Delaney Kenney recorded two of the Vaqueros' five total shot attempts.

Next Tuesday, Oct. 12, the Vaqueros will close out their two-game road trip with a 2:00 p.m. matchup at Allan Hancock.
