SANTA MARIA, Calif. – The SBCC women's soccer team erased a two-goal deficit in the second half, setting up a 2-2 tie in its Tuesday afternoon match at Allan Hancock.

The Vaqueros are now 5-5-1 on the year and 1-2-1 in Western State Conference play. The Bulldogs move to a mark of 4-5-2 overall, 2-1-1 conference.

After a scoreless first 45 minutes, the fireworks started going off early in the second half. Allan Hancock put away back-to-back goals within three minutes of each other, taking a 2-0 lead in the 58th minute.

However, the Vaqueros quickly found an answer, cutting the lead in half in the 59th minute off of a corner kick. Freshman defender Bella Loflin did the honors, heading it in at the far post for her first goal of the season. Freshman midfielder Delaney Kenney recorded her team-leading fourth assist of the year in the process.

Needing one more to equalize, the Vaqueros would level things in the 75th minute. Freshman forward Natani Kent-Earle scored for the third time this year to make it 2-2. Both teams would go on to their first ties of 2021.

Goalkeeper Analea Pule tallied three saves on the day. Santa Barbara outshot the Bulldogs 15-9 and took a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Following two straight on the road, the Vaqueros will be back home at La Playa Stadium this Friday to face Oxnard at 7:00 p.m.
