SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The SBCC women's soccer team ended its three-game home stand without a loss, tying Ventura 1-1 on Friday night at La Playa Stadium.

Facing a red-hot Ventura (11-2-3, 5-0-2) side that came into the day without a loss in nine straight outings, the Vaqueros (7-5-2, 3-2-2) found themselves behind early when Valerie Hernandez scored in the 11th minute.

After coming out of the halftime break still trailing, forward Sofia Orozco would provide the equalizing goal in the 48th minute off an assist by defender Citlali Zambrano.

Orozco became the fourth Vaquero to reach three goals on the year, while Zambrano notched her first assist of the season.

Neither team was able to break the deadlock the rest of the way, as SBCC extended to its own four-game unbeaten streak. Goalkeeper Analea Pule had six saves for the fifth time this season.
