VENTURA, CA - In their first conference showdown, the SBCC Women's soccer team managed to hold Ventura to a 0-0 draw away. Despite having maintained good possession and building their plays effectively from the back, the SBCC squad could not muster the same offensive force that fans have witnessed in their previous outings.

Goalkeeper Anna Kirk showcased her prowess between the sticks with a few key saves, ensuring a clean sheet for the team. The defensive backbone, Stella McKay, alongside Gabi Wilcox, thwarted Ventura's attempts to break the deadlock. In the middle of the park, holding midfielder Gizela Amariz Zermeno stood out with her ability to distribute the ball and break up the opposition's plays.

After the game, head coach Alexander Zermeno expressed his views on the match, stating, "We are excited for conference; it's always a challenge to get a result against a rival. We will take a tie at Ventura and focus on Allan Hancock Tuesday."

SBCC is now 4-2-3 overall on the young season. With their sights now set on the upcoming match at Allan Hancock, SBCC looks poised to further their momentum in conference play.
