As the final whistle blows on a remarkable fall season, the SBCC women's soccer team stands tall, their journey defined by triumphs, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Finishing with a notable 13-4-6 record, the team's achievements have left an indelible mark on the soccer landscape.

The team's home-field advantage proved to be a fortress, with an undefeated record showcasing their dominance and creating an electric atmosphere for fans. Each victory at home not only contributed to the overall success but also became a testament to the squad's prowess and unity.

In conference play, SBCC continued to shine, concluding with a remarkable 7-1-4 record. This strong performance secured them a second-place finish in the WSC North, a testament to the team's consistency and ability to navigate competitive matchups. Despite being ranked 5th in SoCal and 8th in the state going into the championships, they held the highest seed in the WSC North, proving that their success was not only well-earned but also well-deserved.

The pinnacle of their season came in the CCCAA State Championships where they had huge wins against Rio Hondo, and Pasadena. Unfortunately, the run ended in the Elite 8 against Chaffey in a 1-0 loss.

Individual accolades further highlighted the team's exceptional talent. Gizela Amariz Zermeno's inclusion in the All-Region team and Anna Kirk's well-deserved title of Goalkeeper of the Year underscored the team's depth and excellence. The 1st team selections, featuring Stella McKay, Sofia Capelleti, Gizela Zermeno, and Preslea Wilson, showcased the talent that propelled the team to success. Meanwhile, Athena Raelynn Bow-Graham, Abbie Riggs, and Emily McGuire contributed significantly, earning well-deserved spots on the 2nd team.

Honorable mentions for Emily Ralph and Gabi Wilcox further emphasized the team's collective strength, acknowledging the dedication and hard work of every player on the roster.

In reflecting on the season, Head Coach Alexander Zermeno expressed his gratitude, saying, "I feel blessed to have been able to lead a group of such great women." His words encapsulate the team's spirit, where every player exhibited heart and showed up day in and day out, contributing to the shared success of a season that will be remembered for years to come.

As the team looks back on this memorable fall campaign, they carry with them the pride of accomplishments and the bonds forged through shared victories. The SBCC women's soccer team's journey this season is not just a story of wins and losses; it's a narrative of a collective effort, determination, and the enduring spirit of a team united in pursuit of greatness.
