VENTURA, Calif. – Beach volleyball earned a pair of victories against Western State Conference opponents on Friday at Ventura Harbor.
The Vaqueros defeated Bakersfield 5-0, with each pairing winning in two sets. Tana Long and Kaylin Cooney battled hard as the No. 1 pair, winning 22-20, 21-19.
Things tightened up as Santa Barbara faced host Ventura College. Sage Thorne-Thomsen and Madelynn Papia stayed undefeated on the day, winning 21-14, 21-14.
Naveah Tillet and Lina Husek demonstrated their determination, winning in three sets: 18-21, 21-16 and 15-13.
With the match tied at 2-2, Carly Hanna and Madison Genasci provided the winning sets at 21-14 and 24-22.
Santa Barbara remains undefeated in conference play and will travel to Santa Monica on April 4 to take on Santa Monica College and Moorpark College.
