SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – With one on and one out in the bottom of the sixth inning, Cole Ide launched a two-run home run over the right field fence at Pershing Park to help Santa Barbara City College to a 13-3 win over Moorpark on Tuesday.

Some early errors by the Vaquero defense led to a close game early. With the score tied 3-3 heading into the bottom of the fifth, Ide would score on a wild pitch before Brendon Cekada delivered a two-RBI infield single to give Santa Barbara a three-run lead.

Cekada led the offense with three RBIs, while Will Matuszak, Logen Seeger, Ben Fabbian, Michael Firestone, Nicolas Aguirre and Benjamin Strutt also drove in runs.

On the mound, Joseph Talarico continued his dominant season, earning his WSC-best eighth win while lowering his ERA to 1.63. The right-hander struck out 11 over seven innings and now ranks third in the conference with 69 strikeouts.

Trevor Kester-Johnson and Caiden Christianson each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.

The Vaqueros pitching staff currently ranks third in earned runs, strikeouts and WHIP in the conference.

Santa Barbara (21-12, 13-6) travels to Cuesta College on Thursday before returning home to host Oxnard on Friday at Pershing Park.
