Matt is heading into his third season as coach of the linebackers and special teams coordinator, while also working with the safeties.

In 2018, the Vaquero defense led the conference in a variety of stats including fumbles, pass defense, and red zone defense. The 2018 Vaquero Special Teams produced 2 touchdowns, 6 fumbles, and multiple long returns. The unit was led by first-year kicker, Martin Ahlstroem, who received a full scholarship to West Virginia State.

In 2019, the Vaqueros were the leaders in multiple statistics, including: the fewest penalties in the state, top kick return statistics in the state, and punting average in the conference. Jaylon Smith led the Vaqs and was awarded with All-State Returner accolades for his many big returns. 2019 Vaquero Punter Ray Shay received all-state nominations, as well.

Adolph served as a defensive analyst/quality control coach as well as graduate assistant for the Michigan State Spartans from 2015-17, serving all positions on the defensive unit as well as special teams. In his first season in 2015, he assisted and analyzed operations of both the recruiting department and coaching staff.

Adolph spent 2014-15 working for the San Francisco 49ers in the scouting department, assisting with the collegiate draft preparation and professional scouting division while also serving as an aid to the coaching staff.

As a graduate from the University of Kentucky, Adolph earned his bachelor’s degree in Business management, while being a member of the football team as a walk-on linebacker and long snapper for the Wildcats. During his playing tenure, he was able to start at long snapper and achieve SEC All-Academic honors.

Adolph was born in Northeast Ohio, growing up in Columbus, where he graduated from Dublin Jerome High School. Playing Football, Hockey and Lacrosse throughout high school, Matthew was a tight end, linebacker, and long snapper for Coaches Mark Hundley and Pat Murphy.

Matt is the grandson of a former NFL coach, the late Dave Adolph, who coached in the NFL and College for nearly 50 years.
