Kody Wilson scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds on Saturday as No. 18 Sequoias downed SBCC 73-51 in a men's basketball game at the Cuesta Tournament in San Luis Obispo.
Drayten Howell, a 5-11 sophomore point guard from Lompoc High, led the Vaqueros (0-2) with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists. Aaron Mejia added nine points on 3-5 shooting from the 3-point line. Jeremiah Appleton had five assists.
The Giants (1-1) outshot the Vaqueros 40.3 to 35 percent and had 12 steals. SBCC committed 24 turnovers while forcing 14.
Santa Barbara completes play in the round-robin tourney on Sunday vs. West Hills Coalinga at 1 p.m.
