
Zeke McMurtry poured in a season-high 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds on Friday but SBCC still came up short in a 97-87 men's basketball loss at Oxnard.
McMurtry, a 6-5 freshman guard from Baton Rouge, La., had 16 points and eight boards in the opening half as the Vaqueros took a 45-40 lead, thanks to 62.1% shooting (18-29). He was 7-9 shooting in the first half and 13-22 for the game. McMurtry had 14 double-doubles in 21 games this season and was the No. 2 rebounder in the state (11.5 per game).
Joseph Holden drilled 5-11 from long distance and scored 23 points in his final appearance for the Vaqueros (3-24, 0-10 WSC North). Sophomore guard Kile Kleiner added 18 points and seven rebounds.
Kirvaris Myricks led the Condors (6-19, 2-8) with 29 points.
