Peter McGoey

Peter McGoey

Peter McGoey has been an assistant coach since 1991. During that time he also worked alongside current head coach Devin Engebretsen and assistant coach Randy Moharram for several years. 

Peter is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He worked for Pinecrest Hospital and Cottage Hospital from 1979 to 2019 in the Addiction Services and Mental Health Recovery programs along with Trauma Services. He worked in the in-patient, residential and outpatient programs providing counseling for individuals and families struggling with Alcoholism and Chemical Dependency.

McGoey is an Adjunct Professor with the SBCC Addictive Disorders Counseling Program. He has also been an Adjunct Professor at UCSB Extension and Antioch University. He has led and leads workshops, classes and retreats on communication skills, meditation and recovery topics in the United States and Canada. He is currently providing counseling for First Responders and their families with 911 At Ease International. 

He played tennis for the University of Portland and graduated with a B.A. in Sociology. He taught and coached in high school and elementary school prior to his career at Health Care. Peter has an M.A. in Social Science from California State University at Fullerton and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University.
