RIVERSIDE – The SBCC men's golf team had one of its best showings of the year on Monday at Victoria Country Club for the Riverside Invite, taking third place out of a pool of 16 teams.
Ryan Gay shot a 73 to lead the Vaqueros for the second straight competition. He was followed by Coleman Mortensen (75), Caleb Rodriguez (76) and Gabe Marmon (77).
Santa Barbara finished just three strokes out of first place. Orange Coast (383) and Saddleback "A" finished just ahead of the Vaqueros.
There was a five-way tie for the top individual score. Finishing just one stroke ahead of Gay with a 72 were Evan Colborn (Ventura), Braden Threikeld (Canyons), Brandon Winters (Mt. SAC), Trevor Allensworth (Saddleback "B"), and Cathan Peterson-Cheek (Orange Coast).
