GLENDALE – The SBCC men's golf team continued to impress on Monday at Oakmont Country Club, finishing with the top two individual scores and taking second place for its highest team finish of the year at the Western State Conference No. 4 match hosted by Glendale College.
The Vaqueros (406) finished four strokes behind first place Canyons (402), led by Caleb Rodriguez who carded a 76 to lead all golfers. Ryan Gay was right behind him with a 5-over par 77 for sole possession of second place overall.
Both Rodriguez and Gay placed ahead of Ventura's Steen Zeman and Canyons' Dom De Luc, who each shot a 78. Ventura rounded out the top-three team scores with a 410.
SBCC returns to action on Monday, Mar. 14 at WSC No. 5 hosted at Antelope Valley Country Club in Palmdale.
