SANTA MARIA, Calif. – For the third time this year, the SBCC men's soccer team scored three first half goals, this time doing so in an eventual 4-1 win at Western State Conference foe Allan Hancock.

Beginning conference play on Tuesday evening, the Vaqueros claimed their fourth straight win to improve to 7-2-2. The Bulldogs fall to 1-8-2 overall and 0-1 in the WSC.

The Vaqueros opened the scoring in the 19th minute. After they drew a foul just outside the box, sophomore midfielder Paulo Carrillo-Weisenburger stepped up to score on the free kick, placing it into the top right of the goal.

The Newport, Calif. native would earn his team-leading seventh assist of the year less than six minutes later. He played it in on a corner kick to find sophomore forward Bart Muns, who headed it inside the near post, 2-0.

SBCC made it 3-0 before the halftime whistle, as Muns tallied an assist of his own. His short pass outside the goalie box found freshman midfielder Lukas Lovgren, who scored his first of the year to make it 3-0.

In the opening minute of the second half, Muns capped the Vaqueros' scoring with a second goal, securing his brace off the assist by sophomore forward Tanner Stevenson.

That was the team-leading eight goal of the year for Muns, three more than any other Vaquero. He also leads the team with 20 points (8 goals, 4 assists).

Carrillo-Weisenburger's assist moved him into a tie with Will Demirkol for the second-highest point total on the team (13).

In its last eight conference-openers against Allan Hancock, SBCC is now 7-1. The Vaqueros will go for their fifth straight win when they travel to face Oxnard this Friday in a 4:00 p.m. match. The game will be played at Oxnard's Field One, northeast of the PE building.
