SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The SBCC men's soccer team remained undefeated at La Playa Stadium in 2021, with a pair of second half goals leading to a 2-1 victory over Moorpark on Tuesday.

The Vaqueros (8-3-2, 2-1) opened the scoring in the 66th minute, when sophomore defender Juan Zarate put away his first goal of the season.

The assist came from sophomore midfielder Paulo Carrillo-Weisenburger, who has now helped setup teammates for seven goals this season, a mark which leads the Western State Conference.

The eventual game-winner was scored by sophomore forward Bart Muns in the 74th minute, assisted by freshman forward Dylan Penglase.

Muns now has goals in five of his last six outings, scoring seven times over that stretch. He is the first Vaquero this season to reach 20 points (8 goals, 4 assists), good for second in the conference.

In goal, Sunny Dhaliwal racked up five saves, doing so for his third straight appearance. His 0.93 goals against average puts him at second in the WSC.

SBCC is now 6-0-1 in home games this season with four more yet to come. The Vaqueros have outscored opponents 20-4 when playing in Santa Barbara. They will face LA Mission in a game at Los Angeles Valley College this Friday at 2:00 p.m.
