SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The SBCC men's soccer team exploded in the second half of a 7-1 thrashing of Allan Hancock on Friday, earning their eighth consecutive victory at La Playa Stadium.

Santa Barbara (10-3-3, 4-1-1) had a two-score lead cut in half in the 49th minute on the Bulldogs' (2-12-2, 1-5) only goal of the day. From there, it was all Vaqueros, as they reeled off five unanswered goals to finish with their highest goal total in six years.

Three different Vaqueros secured a brace, the first coming from sophomore forward Bart Muns who scored in the 13th and 57th minutes. Now having scored in seven of his last nine outings, he increases his Western State Conference-leading totals to 12 goals and 30 points.

Muns also picked up two assists, feeding freshman midfielder Jake Dunn in the 10th and 60th minutes. Dunn's second goal made it a 4-1 lead. The Sunderland, England native is currently enjoying his most productive stretch of the season with seven points (3 goals, 1 assist) over his last two contests.

Freshman forward Dylan Penglase would play a part in each of the Vaqueros' final three goals. First, he helped setup a Lukas Lovgren goal in the 69th minute to make it 5-1. He then scored the final two goals of the day, assisted by Dylan Rogers (75th) and Joep Wouters Van den Oudenweijer (88th).

With Penglase's final contribution, SBCC reached seven goals for the first time since their 7-0 season-finale win over Moorpark back on Nov. 13, 2015.

The Vaqueros are now on their third four-game unbeaten streak of the season, boasting a nearly perfect 8-0-1 home record. They have outscored opponents 32-7 when playing in Santa Barbara, where they will face their next opponent, Oxnard, on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
