Ventura took two of three doubles sets on Tuesday and all six singles points in an 8-1 men's tennis victory over SBCC at Pershing Park.

The Pirates (6-0, 4-0 WSC) snapped the Vaqueros' four-game winning streak and clinched at least a share of the WSC title. SBCC is 4-3 and 2-2.

Kyosuke Kiuchi/Taylor Kleine got the lone point for the Vaqueros, beating Charles De La Laurencie/Yuya Koide 9-8 (4) at No. 2 doubles.

"We started strong in three of the singles, only to lose in straight sets in all of them," said SBCC coach Nathan Jackmon. "The singles were much more competitive this time around. We continue to keep getting better as the season goes on."

The Vaqueros will host San Diego City on Saturday at noon.
