Vaqueros Fall to Irvine Valley in Second Home Match

SANTA BARBARA – Facing Irvine Valley on Wednesday at the Sports Pavilion, the SBCC men's volleyball team opened things by winning its first home set of the season, but dropped the final three sets, 19-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-15.

Outside hitter Jack McManus led the Vaqueros with nine kills and two aces, just missing out on a double-double with 11 digs. Libero Nate Rogers led SBCC with 14 digs.

Santa Barbara's most efficient offensive performances came from middle blocker Tobias Murphree and Payton Miller. Murphree had seven kills on a team-high .429 hitting percentage. He also led all players with seven blocks. Miller had three kills hitting at a .300 clip to go along with six digs.

Opposites Isaac Marshall and Kevin Vonyokes both finished with six kills apiece. Vonyokes added five block assists.
