SBCC Goes the Distance at Antelope Valley, Falls in Five Sets

LONG BEACH – The SBCC men's volleyball team went five sets for the second time this season, but this time fell just short in its longest match of the year at Antelope Valley, 21-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 17-15.

The Vaqueros got a team-high 15 kills out of Kevin Vonyokes, who hit at a .355 clip while also adding five digs and two blocks. Kayode Lovejoy-Hall had an extremely efficient night with nine kills on a .667 hitting percentage.

Outside hitter Brigg Busenhart played his first match of the year, going for eight kills (.385) with one ace and six digs. Jack McManus (7 kills), Tobias Murphree (5) and Isaac Marshall (4) also chipped in in the kill department.

Toby Still led the way with three aces, making it three straight matches with at least one. Outside hitter paced the Vaqueros with eight digs.
