SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Santa Barbara City College men's volleyball recorded their first win of the 2025 campaign, winning in straight sets over Santiago Canyon College on Tuesday.

The Vaqueros jumped out to an early lead, winning the first game 25-17, thanks in part to setter Henry Carlin's ability to set up his teammates. Mykolas Petraitis set up Harry Nenninger to secure the final point of the first game.

The dominance continued in the second game with the Vaqueros winning 25-13. Markus Krepp showcased his defensive ability in the set, securing a key block.

The Hawks wouldn't go quietly, as they challenged in the third game. Libero Gabe Stipani secured a crucial ace in the third game to give the Vaqueros a 26-25 edge. Chandler Swanson secured the victory with a kill to win the game 30-28, and the match 3-0.

Volleyball plays again on Friday at Orange Coast College.
