Jacob Schroder ran a season-best 23:06 on Friday to take eighth in the Bakersfield Invitational at Kern County Soccer Park.
Ytxzae Enriquez was 24th in 24:08 and Ethan Clark was 46th (26:27) in his first race of the year. Enriquez shaved 1:13 off his best time.
Bryan Gaxiola of Bakersfield won the 4-mile race in 21:38.
"The guys ran really well today," said coach Scott Fickerson. "They ran smart and executed good race strategy. This was a good experience that will pay dividends for next week's WSC Preview."
The Vaqueros will run in the WSC Preview next Friday at Legg Lake Park in Whittier Narrows.
