In the California Community College Women's Basketball Coaches Association (CCCWBCA) State Poll released on Dec. 9, the Santa Barbara City College Vaqueros are ranked #23 in California.
The Vaqueros were not previously ranked in the state poll for the 2024-25 season. They are also tied for #14 in the South Region ranking.
"The rankings are really nice and a credit to our team staying locked in," said head coach Sandrine Krul. "We don't have to coach their effort."
With a 7-2 record on the season, the Vaqueros are coming off a win over Copper Mountain College.
"These have been the best practices we've had in decades," said Krul. "It's a credit to the team believing in the team, so that's a good thing."
Other Western State Conference teams in the rankings include #5 Moorpark College, #12 Glendale Community College, and #25 Antelope Valley College
Women's basketball plays again on Monday, Dec. 16, against Santa Ana College at the El Camino College Christmas Crossover.
