
OXNARD, Calif. – Four Vaqueros scored in double digits as No. 14 Santa Barbara City College defeated Oxnard College 72-45 on Wednesday.
Santa Barbara jumped out to an early 18-6 lead, fueled by four players hitting 3-pointers and tenacious rebounding.
The second quarter emphasized the Vaqueros' focus on collecting rebounds, helping them take a 34-23 lead into halftime.
"I love when I look at the box score and we have multiple players getting to the offensive glass," head coach Sandrine Krul said. "That's when I know our team is locked in."
The Vaqueros dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Condors 23-6 to further solidify their lead.
Kaylee Lawson led Santa Barbara with 15 points and four steals. Isis Poteet secured her 10th double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds, including eight on the offensive glass.
Off the bench, Amarisse Camargo contributed four points, 10 rebounds (five offensive), two steals and a blocked shot.
Siena Hoban added 11 points, six rebounds, two assists and four steals.
"Siena played really well, very strong across the stat line," Krul said.
Santa Barbara improved to 18-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play.
The Vaqueros return to action Saturday at Ventura College.
