SBCC received the No. 1 seed in the Southern Cal Regional women's soccer playoffs for the first time ever and will host a playoff game on Saturday at 7 p.m. in La Playa Stadium.

The Vaqueros, ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 2 in the nation, won their last 17 games to complete their first undefeated regular season (17-0-1). They won the WSC North with an 8-0 record. The 17-game win streak is a school record.

Santa Barbara will host No. 17 Antelope Valley (10-5-4) on Saturday night. The Marauders went to Oceanside on Thursday and edged MiraCosta 1-0 in double overtime on a goal by Vivian Jauregui in the 103rd minute.

The Vaqueros are a perfect 8-0 at home and haven't allowed a goal, outscoring the opponents 29-0. For the season, they've scored 66 and allowed just three with 15 shutouts in 18 games. They've blanked their last 10 opponents and outscored them 46-0.

Isabella Viana, a freshman from Antelope Valley, had four goals in the last game (a 9-0 win at Cuesta on Nov. 10) and Katherine Sheehy scored three.

The Vaqueros are a triple threat on offense, led by Viana, who's 20th in the state with 16 goals and 35 points. Sheehy, a sophomore forward from Altadena, has 13 goals and 30 points and sophomore midfielder Chloe Montano has 11 goals and 10 assists for 32 points.

Goalie Holly Telliard and the defense have been spectacular with 15 shutouts. They've only allowed one goal in the last 15 games. Telliard, a 5-11 freshman from San Diego, leads the state with a 0.17 goals-against average.

Ticket prices are $12 for general admission. $8 for identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children less than 12 years of age. No conference, staff, or parent booster passes will be honored.
