Sean O'Brien scored two first-half goals and Monica Pizano had three assists on Friday as SBCC cruised past Oxnard 8-1 in a WSC North women's soccer match on the road.

The Vaqueros won for the third time in four days and went over .500 for the first time this year with a 7-6-1 record. SBCC is 4-1 in conference and has outscored its last three opponents 16-1. Oxnard is winless on the season (0-14-1, 0-5-0).

O'Brien scored in the sixth minute on an assist from Pizano. Then the Vaqueros poured in four goals in a 20-minute span to take a 5-0 lead after 40 minutes.

Seven players collected goals for the Vaqueros.

Lovisa Sigbratt scored in the 20th minute, followed by a penalty kick from Molly Branigan six minutes later. In the 32nd minute, O'Brien scored again on another pass from Pizano. Oxnard scored in the 38th minute, then Abby McCann made it 5-1 in the 40th minute.

"I was a little worried that we may have been a little jaded from playing last night but I shouldn't have been," said Vaquero coach John Sisterson. "They all stepped up, worked hard for 90 minutes and reached our goal of three wins in three games this week.

"The girls were dominant from the first whistle and took a comfortable lead into the half. We were able to empty the bench and give everyone some good minutes. Savannah Ayers made three very good saves in the second half."

Emilia Sigbratt scored in the 58th minute and Elin Hedstroem found the net two minutes later with Emilia Sigbratt providing the helper that boosted the lead to 7-1.

Georgia Dover, who had a goal and an assist, completed the scoring in the 80th minute.

SBCC travels to Moorpark on Tuesday with kickoff at 4 p.m.
