SANTA BARBARA, CA – After entering Tuesday's game with LA Pierce winners in four straight games, the SBCC women's soccer team earned its fifth tie of the season, drawing 1-1 at La Playa Stadium.

It was the first tie for the Vaqueros (6-1-5, 4-0-1) since the start of conference play, coming against an LA Pierce side (7-2-3, 1-2-1) that has enjoyed a great start to the year.

Sophomore forward Theresa English was credited with SBCC's only goal for the day. Midway through the first half, a ball played in over the top found the foot of English, who was able to collect it off the bounce on the left side and shoot inside the right post as goalkeeper Samantha Perryman rushed out at her.

Late in the first half, the Brahmas earned a corner and Brenda Alas played it in to Arianna Vigil for a powerful headed goal. Neither team was able to break the 1-1 deadlock in the second half.

English's goal was her fourth of the year, good for second on the team. SBCC is now unbeaten in six straight matches.
