The Vaquero's Women's soccer team lost to Pasadena City College 4-2 on Sept. 10.

Though this was a loss for SBCC, head coach Alex Zermeno believes that this was still a positive game for the Vaqueros.

"Our women's team played exceptionally well against Pasadena, who currently holds the top rank in power points. Until Tuesday, they hadn't conceded a single goal this season, but our players broke through," Zermeno said.

Alyssa Placido scored the two goals for SBCC, Madison Dodson and Kacey Renga had one assist, and Dodson and Charlotte Wheeler had standout performances as forwards.

Placido scored in the second period, scoring from the corner after an assist from Renga. Placido scored again in the second period after a steal from the goalie and an assist from Dodson.

"Unfortunately, we lost 4-2 in the final minutes, but there is a lot to take away from this game. We will regroup, learn from the experience, and begin preparations for our match against Glendale on Friday,"  Zermeno said.

The Vaqueros came back on Friday against Glendale, winning 3-1. Morea Juneau scored the first goal of the night, while Dodson scored the last two.

Women's soccer will take on College of the Canyons at 4p.m on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at La Playa Stadium.
