Jaime Alvarado was promoted to Associate Head Coach after his impressive first season with the Vaqueros, where his expanded responsibilities played a key role in leading both the men’s and women’s teams to 2023 Western State Conference runner-up finishes and the 2024 WSC championships.
With seven years of collegiate coaching experience at Cal Lutheran University under Head Coach Frank Marino, Jaime developed a strong foundation in player development, tactical strategy, and recruiting. A former student-athlete at both Oxnard College and Cal Lutheran, he brings valuable firsthand knowledge of the student-athlete experience to his coaching approach.
In addition to his college coaching background, Jaime has contributed extensively to youth soccer, coaching with Eagles Soccer Club where he helped nurture young talent and promote a passion for the game at the grassroots level.
At SBCC, Jaime serves as the recruiting coordinator, identifying and attracting talented players who fit the Vaqueros’ culture of discipline, hard work, and academic commitment. Working closely with Head Coach Alexander Zermeno, he is dedicated to building competitive programs that prepare student-athletes for success both on and off the field.
Adrian Gonzalez has been part of the SBCC men’s and women’s soccer programs since 2022, serving as an assistant coach primarily working with goalkeepers. During this time, he has coached one Western State Conference North Goalkeeper of the Year for the women’s program in 2022 and one for the men’s program in 2024.
He also serves as Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach for the Carpinteria High School girls varsity team since 2021, where he has developed three consecutive Goalkeepers of the Year.
With over four years of experience as a physical therapy aide in Santa Barbara, Adrian brings valuable knowledge of athlete health and injury prevention to his coaching. He holds a Goalkeeper United Soccer Coaches Level 1 License and has an Associate of Arts in Kinesiology from SBCC, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from California Lutheran University.
Adrian’s blend of coaching expertise, sports science education, and hands-on therapy experience helps him develop competitive, technically skilled, and mentally tough goalkeepers for both SBCC programs.
