SBCC capped off an outstanding first season of women's swimming with eight All-American times. All-American status goes to the top 16 times or marks for two-year colleges in the United States in each event.
Rachelle Visser led the way with three All-American times and Kaili Faust had two.
Visser was fifth in the nation in the 100 butterfly (58.65) and 200 individual medley (2:10.85). She was seventh in the 100 backstroke in 59.16. The freshman from Holland also swam on three relay teams that received All-American recognition – the 400 (3:42.81) and 800 (8:08.67) freestyle units, along with the 200 medley relay (1:52.59).
The members of the relay teams were Janina Schulz, Sienna van Alphen, Emily Foster and Visser (400 free relay); Schulz, Van Alphen, Foster and Visser (800 free relay) and Autumn Lovett, Foster, Visser and Schulz (400 medley relay).
Faust, a freshman from Lahaina, Hawaii, was seventh in the nation in the 50 breaststroke (30.52) and 15th in the 100 breast (1:08.29).
Visser finished third in the 100 butterfly, third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 back at the State Championships, helping the Vaqueros to a 12th-place finish. She holds 12 school records (eight individual, four relays).
