
Santa Monica built a 5-0 lead by taking the first five singles on Thursday and went on to post a 7-2 WSC women's tennis victory over SBCC at Pershing Park.
Josephine Pulver got the singles point for the Vaqueros (5-3, 2-3) by sweeping Elif Ozekici 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6. Pulver also claimed the doubles point with Paige Jensen, winning the No. 3 set 8-1.
The Corsairs improved to 5-2 and 3-1.
The Vaqueros will play Santa Monica again on Tuesday on the Corsairs' courts at 1 p.m.
