Katelyn Peyvandi, Josephine Pulver and Pia Valtierra punched their singles ticket to the CCCAA Women's Tennis State Championships on Friday during back-draw play in the WSC Tournament at Ventura College.
Peyvandi, SBCC's No. 1 player, defeated Pulver 6-3, 7-6 (3) for her spot in the Ojai. Pulver then knocked off teammate Gabrielle Goss 6-3, 6-0. Valtierra earned a state berth by default over Ventura's Jule Lauinger.
They join three doubles teams who previously qualified for the State Tournament at the Ojai – Peyvandi/Goss, Pulver/Valtierra and Hanna Pesniak/Maddie Mitchell.
The State Individual Tournament will be held on April 26-29 in Ventura and Oxnard as well as at the 118th Ojai Tournament.
