Joica Buyse was a double winner on Thursday, taking the No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles in SBCC's 7-2 women's tennis win at Canyons.
The Vaqueros (12-2, 10-0) won their 10th straight WSC match and hold a 1.5-game lead over Bakersfield with four matches remaining. Canyons (8-4, 8-2) fell out of a second-place tie and trails Bakersfield (8-1) by a half-game.
Buyse, a freshman from Izegem, Belgium, beat Marisa Wambolt 6-3, 7-5 in singles and teamed with her sister, Jamaica, for an 8-5 doubles win. Jule Lauinger/Julia Jakobsen also won at No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
The Cougars defaulted the last two singles matches and the No. 3 doubles.
SBCC will host Glendale on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
