Coming off of a first place conference finish in the 2023 season, SBCC Women's Volleyball is looking to come back better than ever this fall.

The eight returning sophmores fought hard last season and saw a three way tie for first place in  the WSC North Championship. This season, they've come back several weeks earlier to train even harder, with their sights set on the State Championship.

Natalie Lercari-Sullivan will return as a setter for the Vaqueros. As an all-conference selection last season, she is a role model for newcomers and returners. Her leadership skills on the court intend to set the table for the rest of the girls, and her consistency from the setting position will be a valuable asset to the team.

Middles Carly Hanna, Bella Nassiri, and Katie McArthur offer a vast depth of experience in their respective positions. All three saw game time last season and are walls at the net.

Brooke Alexander and Chaya Clemons are returning pin hitters, with a specialty for shutting opponents down at the net. While Clemons is a stud blocker, Alexander sees the court from a unique perspective and brings a extensive amount of volleyball knowledge to the team.

Exhibiting a high level of skill in all positions, Nevaeh Tillet returns as a primary outside hitter, though she plays all six rotations. Her experience as a starter will guide the incoming freshmen as they learn how to be a Vaqueros volleyball player.

Aviana Clemons is the last of the eight returners, and will be transitioning positions from a hitter to a passing primary role. Clemons trained hard last spring to get acclimated to her new role, and her work will show on the court this season.

The first of many home game battles will be held at 6 p.m on Wednesday, August 28 against Rio Hondo College.
