The Vaquero's women's volleyball team beat Pasadena City College on Wednesday, Sept. 18.

SBCC won three out of the four sets on Wednesday, with a final score of (22-25, 27-25, 25-23, 25-20).

"I am so proud of how we played our best volleyball in each set from point 20 on. All the games were very close, with multiple lead exchanges, but we played with a confidence at the end of the games that I was very proud to see," Head Coach Kat Nitkso said.

Kaylin Cooney and Tana Long led the game with 15 kills from Cooney and 9 kills from Long. Bella Nassiri was also a huge contributor to Wednesday's match.

"It's a different player each match that steps up for us each match which is huge. Tonight it was middle blocker Bella Nassiri; she came into the game late in the second set, when we were down 1 set to none and I was looking for a spark," Nitkso said. "We ended up winning that set and she had 4 kills on 7 swings (with 0 errors) to hit .571% to go along with 3 blocks"

The Vaqueros finished with just 16 errors, compared to Pasadena's 33.

This win brings SBCC's current standing to 8-2, with their 11th game of the season coming up on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

"It's the moments when your team gets excited for one another that really touch your heart for the love of the sport and the game," Nitkso said.
