SBCC received a bye through the first round of the playoffs and as the #7 seed, will host Mt. SAC (#10 seed) on Tuesday November 26th at 6pm.
Santa Barbara finished the season with a 19-7 overall record, and a 3rd place finish in the competitive WSC North. The Vaqs played the Mounties on the opening day of the season at the Bakersfield Quad and lost 0-3. Coach Niksto said of the matchup, "We are excited to get a rematch vs Mt. SAC. We didn't play very well in our match against them on the opening day of the season, and we have grown and evolved so much as a team over the course of the season, and I am very proud that we received a first round bye." The Mounties also finished the season with a 19-7 record, and were co-champions of the South Coast Conference-North. "Once you make the playoffs, everyone is good. It's going to be a battle with both teams having a strong season and team. I am so excited for Tuesday, playoff volleyball is the best time of the year!" said Coach Niksto.
The last time the Vaqs received a bye through the first round was in 2021 which saw them as the #5 seed and advancing to the Regional Finals. Join us at the Sports Pavilion on Tuesday, November 26th at 6pm to support your Vaqueros!
