2024 Vaqueros

The Vaqueros closed the 2024 season with their team banquet and awards ceremony this past Tuesday. The Vaqs celebrated another successful season that culminated with their 4th consecutive playoff berth. Their 19-8 record was the best for the program since 2021 and all 8 losses were to top 25 State Ranked teams. Coach Niksto said, "this was such an enjoyable team, and season to be a part of! This group of girls truly embodied the values of the Vaquero Volleyball Program: Family, Resilience & Success. With a strong group of freshmen returning next season, I am excited to see where next year takes us!"
Also honored at the evening were the team awards winners:
Valeria Ballodas, FR, Libero: 1st Team All Conference, All Southern California Region, SBCC Vaquero Award
*Led the Conference in digs and was ranked 10th in the State
*Set new single season SBCC record with 62 aces
Kaylin Cooney, FR, Opposite Hitter: 2nd Team All Conference & SBCC Vaquero Award
*Team leader in kills, 6th in Conference
*Team leader in blocks, 4th in Conference
Tana Long, FR, Outside Hitter: All Conference Honorable Mention
*Second on the team in kills, digs and aces
Natalie Lercari-Sullivan, SO, Setter: All Conference Honorable Mention
*Finished career with 1,124 assists
Bayley Padia, FR, Outside Hitter: SBCC Coaches Award
