SBCC's Christy Chavira took 13th on Friday in the Tour de Cuesta women's cross country race at Fairbanks Park in San Luis Obispo.
Chavira, a sophomore from Righetti High, placed 11th among college runners, covering the 5K course in 22:14. That was the ninth-fastest time by a Vaquero on the Fairbanks course. Yuliana Garibay was 31st in 24:50 and Seline Keller finished 45th in 29:38.
Emma Player of Moorpark won the race in 19:35 on a dry, dusty day with temperatures in the 90s.
Mt. SAC had five finishers in the top eight and easily won the team title, beating Saddleback 24 to 65
The Vaqueros will compete in the WSC Championships on Friday, Oct. 20 at Bakersfield.
