Hannemijn Meulman took 26th in the WSC Women's Cross Country Championships on Friday, earning a spot in the Southern Cal Championships in two weeks.
Meulman, a freshman from Sneek in the Netherlands, ran a season best of 21:28 on the 5K course at Bonelli Park in San Dimas. Danelle Tucker also ran a PR and placed 58th in 25:06.
"Both Danelle and Hannemijn ran season best times on a fairly challenging course and in hot conditions," said coach Scott Fickerson. "They raced tough and showed the hard work they've been putting in all season."
Glendale won the team title by beating Moorpark 40-51 to win the 10-team competition. Samantha Barajas of Moorpark was the individual champion in 18:01.
Meulman moves on to the Southern Cal meet on Friday, Nov. 2 at Don Knabe Regional Park in Cerritos, starting at 10 a.m.
