Santa Barbara (1-18, 0-5 WSC North) shot a season-high 62.2% (23-37), including 7-11 on 3-pointers. But the Vaqueros also had a season-low 37 field-goal attempts. Pierce (13-8, 4-1) hit 55.7% (34-61) and was red hot from long range, making 12-17 from beyond the arc.
SBCC, which had just seven healthy players, fell behind 23-10 and trailed 40-31 at halftime. The Vaqueros scored the first 10 points of the second half and took a 41-40 lead on a 3-pointer by Carlos Arevalo with 18:21 to play. The Brahmas responded with a 24-7 run that produced a 16-point lead, 64-48, with 11 minutes to play.
Adrian Juilland-Johnson scored 23 points for the Vaqueros, hitting 8-11 from the field and 5-7 on 3's. Joseph Holden added 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists while Arevalo scored 11 points.
Currie tallied his game-high 26 points in 23 minutes off the bench. He knocked down 8-12 in the second half, including 6-7 from downtown. Max Edwards also came off the bench to add 17 points and five rebounds.
The Vaqueros will host Moorpark on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
