Jaime Alvarado

Jaime Alvarado is an accomplished soccer coach with a proven track record of developing competitive, disciplined, and high-character student-athletes. He was named assistant coach for the Vaqueros in 2023 and was promoted to Associate Head Coach for the Santa Barbara City College Women’s and Men's Soccer program in 2024. Since joining, both programs boast a combined record of 51-22-17 (W-L-T). In 2023, Jaime helped both Men's and Women's Soccer finish 2nd in conference. The following season, both programs earned 1st place in the Western State Conference. The Vaqueros Staff was named CCCSCA So Cal Co-Coaching Staff of the Year for the 2024 season. 
 
Jaime is also the current head coach for the Agoura High School Men’s Soccer team, where he leads all aspects of the program including training, tactics, fundraising, and player development. He has been on staff since 2012 and was promoted to head coach in 2018. 

Prior to these roles, Alvarado was on the coaching staff at California Lutheran University from 2019 to 2023, contributing to both on-field success and the growth of individual players within the Women's Soccer program. He helped the Regals to their 15th NCAA berth. His coaching philosophy emphasizes technical excellence, tactical intelligence, and a commitment to teamwork, while fostering a competitive yet supportive environment.
 
As a player, Jaime played club soccer for Real So Cal. He was a 4-year varsity starter, and went on to play community college for the Oxnard College Condors, where he earned all conference recognition and won two Western State Conference Titles. He then transferred to California Lutheran University, where he led the Kingsmen to a historic win for the SCIAC Tournament Championship in 2017 that punched their ticket to the DIII NCAA Tournament. 

With experience across multiple levels of the game, Alvarado is known for his ability to mentor players, prepare them for the demands of collegiate athletics, and instill values that extend beyond the field. He currently holds a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Cal Lutheran University and a USSF D License.
