
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Santa Barbara City College honored six sophomores ahead of its final home game of the season Thursday at Pershing Park.
Alena Johnson, Mia Reveles, Ryann Cruz, Jauzlyn Moreno, Carolina Koceman, and Sophie Ward were recognized for their contributions to the program before the Vaqueros fell 12-3 to Moorpark College.
Ward provided the biggest highlight of the day with a two-RBI double in the fourth inning and added a stolen base. Johnson made her 14th start of the season in the circle, allowing five earned runs over five innings.
Cruz reached base twice with a single and a walk, while Morgan Grove drove in a run.
Despite the loss, the sophomores' impact was evident in the team's growth, dedication, and competitiveness throughout the season.
Santa Barbara (9-9, 8-5 WSC) wraps up the regular season on Tuesday at Oxnard College.
