SBCC utility player Emma Fraser has earned the aquatic triple crown for the second straight year.
No. 2 SBCC stormed out to leads of 5-0 and 9-2 on Friday morning en route to a 13-4 victory over No. 7 Cypress in a Southern Cal Regional women’s water polo quarterfinal at Cerritos College.
SBCC jumped ahead of Ventura 5-1 and 11-4 on Saturday on the way to a 16-7 victory that gave the Vaqueros their fifth straight WSC women’s water polo title at Santa Monica College.
There were plenty firsts on Saturday on the final day of SBCC’s Halloween Women’s Water Polo Tournament at Santa Barbara High.
Sarah Parson scored a career-high seven goals and Meagan Mckillican tied her career best with four goals on Friday, leading No. 2 SBCC to an 18-7 women's water polo win over No. 9 West Valley.
SBCC beat No. 3 Sierra in a state final rematch on Saturday morning, then fell to No. 2 Fullerton 10-8 in the championship game of the Battle at the Beach women’s water polo tournament at Cerritos College.
Emma Fraser collected six goals and three steals in the first half on Wednesday night as No. 1 SBCC cruised past Citrus 17-4 in a WSC women’s water polo match at San Marcos High.
Fullerton went where no women’s water polo team had gone for the last 343 days on Saturday, upsetting No. 1-ranked SBCC 10-8 on the opening day of the Cuesta Rabobank Invitational at Dos Pueblos High.
SBCC closed with a 5-2 run in the final 6½ minutes on Wednesday to knock off Ventura 14-10 in its WSC women’s water polo opener at the Ventura Aquatic Center.
SBCC staged a pair of comeback wins on Saturday on the final day of the Mt. SAC women’s water polo tournament in Walnut. The Vaqueros downed Long Beach for the second time this year, 13-10, and outlasted Saddleback in a wild 19-17 triumph.
SBCC won two more games on Friday to remain undefeated in women’s water polo action. The defending state champion Vaqueros knocked off San Diego Mesa 14-9 in the Mt. SAC Tournament, then held on to beat Fullerton 12-11 in the Hornets’ pool.

SBCC posted three wins on the Opening Day of the 2018 women’s water polo season. The defending state champions knocked off Merced 17-7, West Valley 13-7 and Cerritos 17-4 on Saturday in the Central Coast Invitational at Morro Bay High.
