10 Vaqueros get AA degrees at 2014 GraduationMay 27, 2014Ten SBCC softball players received their Associate of Arts degrees degrees on Friday, May 23 in a ceremony at La Playa Stadium. Ninety-four athletes graduated and 650 students attended the 65th annual Commencement Ceremony.

Gill helps Vaqueros split in Bash at the BeachMarch 30, 2014Brianna Gill went 2-3 with four RBIs on Sunday, guiding SBCC to a 10-6 win over Golden West in the Bash at the Beach fast-pitch softball tournament at Pershing Park. The Vaqueros were shut down in the second game as Alashanee Medina struck out 18 to lead East L.A. to a 7-2 victory.

Long Beach routs Vaqueros 17-6March 15, 2014Things were looking good for the SBCC softball team after the Vaqueros scored five runs in the second to take a 5-0 lead over Long Beach on Saturday in a nonconference game at Pershing Park. But the Vikings (11-10) turned the tables with a 10-spot in the fourth and went on to beat Santa Barbara 17-6 in six innings.

Southwestern handed the Vaquero a 6-1 loss and Golden West posted a 3-1 victory in a game that started at 6:30 p.m.

Vaqueros swept by Cuesta in WSC twinbillMarch 04, 2014Nichole Johnson pitched a four-hitter in the WSC Gold opener on Tuesday and Jeananne Ruck tossed a two-hitter, leading Cuesta to a softball sweep over SBCC at Pershing Park. The scores were 6-2 and 9-1 in the nightcap, which was called after five innings by the run-rule.

Nordin’s walk-off single lifts Vaqueros, 3-2February 25, 2014Emma Tegth Nordin came off the bench to collect two RBIs on Tuesday, including a bases-loaded single with no outs in the bottom of the seventh that gave SBCC a 3-2 walk-off softball win over L.A. Valley.

Vaqueros go 1-1 on Valentine's DayFebruary 14, 2014Valentine’s Day was a mixed blessing for the SBCC softball team as the Vaqueros topped Saddleback 7-4 behind a 2-run homer by Dakotah Wilcox, then lost to Canyons 6-2. The games were played at Canyons’ Whitten Field in Santa Clarita.

Vaqueros score 6 in sixth to beat Cuesta 11-8April 09, 2013After trailing for most of the game on Tuesday, SBCC roared back to beat Cuesta 11-8 in a WSC Gold contest at Pershing Park. Shortstop Alice Cen went 3-4 with three runs and pitcher Alex Abbott was 1-2 with two RBIs and two walks for the Vaqueros (12-22, 7-6), who rallied from an 8-5 deficit with six runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Snyder, Congleton are best in Southern CalMay 02, 2011The accolades keep pouring in for the SBCC softball team, which just completed the best regular season in school history with a 31-5 record and its first WSC championship. Kailey Snyder was named Pitcher of the Year for Southern California and Paula Congleton was selected Coach of the Year. There are 44 schools that play softball in six Southern Cal conferences.
